When playing golf , there's a recognized code of behavior that should be followed . The rules were created to ensure the enjoyment and safety of every golfer playing on the golf course. Beginning golfers need to make an effort to learn the accepted behavior.

On the Course
1. Arrive at the course early, or before your scheduled tee time .
2. Read the posted cart rules, and any special course rules.
3. Always repair your divots in the fairways and teeing areas.
4. If you hit into another fairway, allow the players on that hole to hit their shots first before going to your ball.
5. Maintain silence when another player is hitting their shot.
6. Do not distract other golfers by shouting or making loud noises.
7. Maintain the course as you found it , never leave trash lying around.
8. Always mark your ball if it's in the way of another player's shot.
9. Always yell "Fore" if your ball is in danger of hitting another golfer .
Pace Of Play and Teeing Off
1. Stay an adequate distance away from the person who's teeing off, never in their line of sight.
2. Always have your golf clubs in order and be ready to play when it's your turn. It increases speed of play.
3. Never cross or stand in the other player's playing line. It's considered rude .
4. If you are playing exceptionally slow allow others to play through.
5. Don't cast a shadow on another player's putting line.
6. The player who is farthest from the hole typically hits their shot first.
7. Bring your putter when chipping around the green. This will also save you time and energy.
Simple golf etiquette can make the game much more enjoyable.
